Dreams Piled on Air & Light (2009)
Exhibition, Dreams Piled on Air & Light, is a material exploration of light as a sculptural medium, to investigate ideas around the every day spaces and experiences as the root of imagination and possibility. The body of work in the exhibition includes four main sculptural pieces and the interplay of light and shadow to create an immersive architectural experience. The materialization of the work comes out of common surroundings, and is a result of trying to manifest a dream given the limitations inherent in the real world. Simulation of suggested material brings humour to the implied narrative in the work, where the mundane is put into play to become extraordinary. The works exhibited are: Rainbow (2008), In The Making (2009), Windows (2009), and The Dead Thing (2009).
